Situated atop a steeply sloping corner site with panoramic views across the Pacific, Coogee House redefines coastal modernism through its poetic form and environmental responsiveness. Conceived by Chenchow Little and expertly project-managed by Palmera, the dwelling is elegantly wrapped in a lightweight, retractable battened veil that offers privacy, solar control, and sculptural drama—allowing natural breezes and filtered light to animate daily living.
The internal stone volume folds gracefully with the topography, tapering downward to maintain neighbor sightlines and maximize ocean exposure.
Entry is via an elevated timber bridge spanning a landscaped courtyard, leading into a living space that frames the Eastern horizon through carefully composed openings and circulation flows. Bedrooms and family zones nestle into lower volumes that open onto the rear garden, leveraging shaded, outdoor transitions with refined tectonic expression.
